Outcomes Innovation

QOLIX® is a web-based Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) monitoring system that integrates newly-developed generic and condition-specific PRO measures to improve the comprehensiveness and efficiency of measurement in comparison with familiar legacy PROs. QOLIX measures 10 generic domains and includes a standardized (across diseases) condition-specific measure of the same 10 domains but with specific disease attributions. In addition, QOLIX estimates a Comorbidity Impact Index developed specifically to distinguish between the impact of a disease and the impact of comorbid conditions when interpreting generic health outcomes. Interpretation is made easier by using standardized, norm-based scoring for both generic and condition-specific outcomes. For all outcomes, QOLIX improves measurement efficiency using a new Adaptive Survey Logic™ (ASLX®) that is faster than routine computer adaptive tests (CAT) for most respondents and better adapts measurement to the purpose of each PRO application.

In a nutshell, QOLIX attempts to do for generic and disease-specific tools what Medical Outcomes Study profiles and summary measures did for generic health PROs decades ago. Evaluations of the system, including comparisons with other PRO tools, have been favorable in general and chronically ill populations. The QOLIX system (patent pending) is available only for scholarly research studies in the U.S. and available for all purposes elsewhere.

ASLX®

For all outcomes, QOLIX improves measurement efficiency using a new Adaptive Survey Logic™ (ASLX®) that is faster than routine computer adaptive tests (CAT) for nearly all respondents and better adapts measurement to the purpose of each PRO application.

Shorter Surveys

Using technologies such as ASLX®, QOLIX® is able to administer surveys more quickly, reducing administration time while gaining accuracy when compared to standard CAT administrations and static administrations.

No Duplicative Questions

No one likes repetitive questioning. QOLIX® instruments are built so that redundant questioning is omitted.
